We provide consultative garden design and garden landscaping, building any and all garden structures, across Essex and Suffolk in the UK. All our landscaping is enhanced with beautiful, sustainable planting schemes, plant supply/ install, border redesign/ refresh and tailored care packages specifically to suit the needs of our clients and their gardens.
Our mission is to help make an entirely new garden, or partially refreshed areas in an already established garden, fully achievable and at any budget. Helping people achieve a new garden and for it to be exciting, realistic, with a cohesive and sustainable design is our goal. Sometimes that means our clients work alongside us during the build, take on homework and split their project into delivery phases to help them manage costs.
Whether it’s a small Chelmsford townhouse courtyard for the city worker, a large Colchester family garden with children and pets to consider, a Frinton seaside bungalow garden for a retired couple, or a commercial garden for staff to enjoy - all types of garden can be enhanced to improve our lives at home and at work.
We pay special attention to the details of every project to ensure the complete satisfaction of each client. This means we help to enhance the exterior of every home or workplace, raise the property value, and beautify the whole outside space.
We operate a sustainable and creative garden DESIGN | BUILD | PLANT | MAINTAIN business throughout Essex and Suffolk. This means we cover contemporary garden design, quality garden landscaping and beautiful planting schemes.
We treat all our clients’ gardens as if they were our own, creating beautiful gardens with a strong sense of place and drawing inspiration from the architecture and surrounding landscape. This means our services offer:
1. FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION - An initial site visit will be arranged to view the garden and discuss the client brief and budget. This meeting is a good opportunity for the client to share their ideas and aspirations for their garden. Following this meeting a fee proposal for the design work can be submitted.
2. DESIGN - All our design consultations are aimed at helping clients create a vision for their garden that they can afford to build. An iterative process, our design services help clients envisage their new garden, accompanied by a realistic game plan for change. Following this phase a fee estimate for the build and plant work can be submitted.
3. BUILD - We deploy our build services using a highly skilled and specialist sub-contracted network of professional landscapers and builders. Our senior team work with a diverse skillset, relentless eye for detail and a work ethic to match.
4. PLANT - We utilise a national network specialist trade growers and wholesale plant providers on all our planted projects to deliver the best quality, varieties and price to any budget. Our planted border review services are carefully tailored to enhancing the overall aesthetic, creating a healthy and thriving planted area. This can be a carried out as a fully interactive process with our clients feedback and involvement or as an independent ‘turnkey’ service that is supplied and installed. Rest assured our stunning planting combinations offer colour, scent, structure and interest all year round, as well as being the right plants to thrive in all garden conditions. Following the build and plant phase conclusion an idea of the costs associated with Hortus Pink maintenance services can be provided.
5. MAINTAIN - We provide a highly bespoke aftercare and maintenance package - covering everything from a fully managed service through to in person training, consultation and education for clients to learn and confidently take full control of their own garden maintenance.
Our business is covered with Professional Indemnity Insurance and Public Liability Insurance.
All our projects involve written proposals, terms and conditions and stage payments (with an escrow service available through TrustMark).
Our VAT number is 433546988.
Founder and Director, Zoe Pink, leads the business and her work combines naturalism with modernity and built forms with romantic planting. She is particularly good at helping clients strategically decide what will work in their garden providing a sense of place within the setting of the landscape and architecture of the house. She takes a tailored approach to creating contemporary garden designs that illustrate the vision for change.
Zoe believes passionately that gardens should be more plant orientated, trying to keep garden landscaping to a minimum, using locally sourced materials and recycling, rehoming or reusing existing material wherever possible. She is dedicated to nurturing trees, shrubs and plants in her planting schemes to find their place in our natural environment. How people interact with gardens and the important role they play in our lives, at home, at work and within our communities. By combining chic design with seasonal soft landscaping and quality built hard landscaping, her ultimate goal is to help people find joy in their exquisite new garden. Some clients even say her services have been life changing!
Zoe brings the wealth of knowledge from her previous city career as a management consultant and utilises a thoroughly professional way to manage client projects, both creatively and strategically. Zoe participates in the National Garden Scheme, opening both her own and client gardens, to raise money for a multitude of charities. She also gives talks for gardening clubs and organisations, like the Women's Institute and other groups, with a shared passion for gardening. A lifelong gardener and third generation horticulturist, she lives and breathes gardens every day and it never tires her passion or green fingers.
Zoe is a Pre-Member of the Society of Garden Designers (SGD - the only professional garden design organisation in the United Kingdom) and leads the Essex cluster. She undertakes professional CDP training through the SGD on a regular basis to ensure that the Hortus Pink creative process continues to evolve to industry standards and best practice. She is also an Accredited Member of the Association of Professional Landscapers having gone through rigorous industry adjudication to simultaneously gain government backed TrustMark stamp for quality landscaping.
Client satisfaction is our priority and we strive to provide a service we are proud of. The happiness of our clients is what drives us, not only to deliver a stunning new garden, but also to help grow our clients confidence in successfully maintaining their new garden for years to come.
We start every project by providing a free consultation to understand our clients’ goals, budget and needs for the garden landscaping project. This is how we guarantee that every project is completed according to tailored preferences and ultimately delivers a new garden that exceeds expectations.
Our Essex and Suffolk based client feedback and project library are examples of our high attention to detail, creative impetus, approachable client liaison and guaranteed follow-through to complete all projects to a very high standard.
